Dr Bahareh Samiei-Sarir is a highly trained Obstetrician and Gynaecologist specialising in women's health. She received her fellowship from the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (RANZCOG) in 2015 and has since gained extensive experience in the field.
Dr Samiei-Sarir completed her Obstetrics & Gynaecology training at Westmead Hospital, where she had the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population. During her training, she developed a special interest in minimally invasive surgery, particularly laparoscopy, and spent 12 months as a Gynaecological Laparoscopic Fellow. This experience allowed her to gain expertise in advanced laparoscopic procedures.
As a Senior Registrar at Westmead Hospital, Dr Samiei-Sarir managed a busy tertiary unit that delivered over 5000 babies annually. She has extensive experience in managing high-risk pregnancies, including twin pregnancies, previous preterm deliveries, and previous traumatic births. Additionally, she has a special interest in treating patients with thyroid and other endocrine problems during pregnancy.
Dr Samiei-Sarir is deeply committed to teaching and training the next generation of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. She is an active member of RANZCOG and serves as a Training Supervisor for the college, mentoring and guiding specialists in training. She also frequently educates medical students, junior doctors, midwives, and other health professionals.
Currently, Dr Samiei-Sarir serves as a dedicated staff specialist at Westmead Hospital. She runs Gynaecological and Antenatal clinics, providing comprehensive care to her patients. Her clinical interests include urogynaecology (prolapse), minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopy), abnormal uterine bleeding and fibroids, abnormal pap smears and colposcopy, and contraception.
Dr Samiei-Sarir is passionate about empowering women and providing them with the highest quality of care. She is fluent in Farsi, which enables her to effectively communicate with patients from diverse backgrounds.
Outside of her professional work, Dr Samiei-Sarir is a proud mother of two boys and values the importance of a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to women's health. She is committed to continuous improvement and is always happy to help with any questions or concerns.
