Dr Babak Farr

Dr Babak Farr completed his medical degree in Iran and worked in under-resourced rural parts of the country after graduation. In 2008, he relocated to Australia where he obtained his Fellowship of the Australian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine in 2015 and later on, his Fellowship in Pain Medicine in 2018. Dr Farr’s medical expertise involves peri-operative pain management, post-operative rehabilitation, and chronic pain care. He values the subjective experience of pain and understands the importance of treating each patient’s personal experience within their cultural and socio-economic framework. Therefore, he uses a multidisciplinary approach tailored to each patient’s specific needs, focusing on harm minimisation and opioid reduction while managing chronic pain. Dr Farr is an active educator, contributing to the training of doctors in the field, and also serves as an examiner for the Australian Faculty of Rehabilitation Medicine. With his extensive knowledge in pain management, Dr Farr is a valuable asset to those in his care and to the wider medical community.
