A/Prof Ashley Miller is a Consultant Physician in Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of digestive disorders. He completed his medical degree at the University of Melbourne and went on to pursue advanced training in Gastroenterology in Melbourne and Canberra. A/Prof Miller holds a PhD in the field of inflammatory bowel disease.

Currently, A/Prof Ashley Miller serves as a Visiting Staff Specialist and Head of Clinics in the Department of Gastroenterology at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne. In addition, he runs a private consulting practice in East Melbourne and Werribee. He performs colonoscopy and gastroscopy procedures at the Epworth Freemasons Day Procedure Centre in East Melbourne, as well as at Hobson Healthcare in Werribee and Sydenham. He is affiliated with St. Vincent’s Hospital, Mercy Private Hospital, and the Epworth Freemasons Hospital.

A/Prof Miller has a strong interest in various aspects of gastroenterology, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, inflammatory bowel disease, bowel cancer screening, and coeliac disease. He is dedicated to medical education and serves as a Fellow in the Department of Medicine at St Vincent’s Hospital, University of Melbourne. Additionally, A/Prof Miller is an Adjunct Clinical Senior Lecturer in the School of Medicine at the University of Notre Dame, where he teaches both undergraduate students and trainee specialists. He has also completed the specialist "Train the Trainer Programme in Colonoscopy", reflecting his passion for colonoscopy training and education. Furthermore, A/Prof Miller has been a longstanding member of the St. Vincent’s Hospital Human Research and Ethics Committee.

Throughout his career, A/Prof Ashley Miller has made significant contributions to the field of Gastroenterology through his research and publications. He has been recognized for his work with several prestigious awards, including the Poster Prize for the best poster at Australian Gastroenterology Week in 2000 and the Novartis Clinical Prize for the most outstanding research presentation at St. Vincent’s Hospital Research Week in 1999. He has also received Young Investigator Awards from both the Gastroenterological Society of Australia and the Asian Pacific Congress of Gastroenterology.
