Dr Antonio Vega Vega

Associate Professor Antonio Vega Vega is a highly experienced Spanish and Australian trained urologist. He obtained his medical degree from the renowned University of Salamanca in Spain and later received his five-year urology training at Santander University. He is a Fellow of the European Urology Association and a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. In 2001, he was awarded a PhD with Honours in Renal Xenotransplants. Dr Vega Vega has worked across various hospitals in Australia, including the Royal Brisbane Women’s Hospital, Nambour General Hospital, Rockhampton Hospital, Greenslopes Private Hospital, Princess Alexandra Hospital Brisbane, Mater Rockhampton and Hillcrest Rockhampton Private Hospital.

For eight years, he worked as an international urologist professor for Siemens. Dr Vega Vega has published widely in leading international journals and has presented at major conferences, including the American Urological Association and European Urological Association Annual Meetings. He received the ‘Best Publication of the Year’ award in 2005 from the Spanish Urology Association Journal. His scope of practice includes urology cancers such as prostate, kidney, bladder and testicular cancer, female urology, incontinence and urodynamics, benign and malignant pathology of the prostate, andrology, erectile dysfunction, infertility, laparoscopic, open surgery and endourology, radical prostectomy, and laparoscopic nephrectomy.
