Dr Anthony Croft

Dr Anthony Croft is a distinguished gastroenterologist who specialises in the field of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), with a particular interest in providing high-quality healthcare services to the underserved population of Queensland, Australia. Currently practicing in Newstead, Brisbane, Dr Croft is associated with Caloundra Private Day Hospital.

Dr Croft obtained his medical degree from the University of Queensland and went on to receive extensive training at various hospitals in southeast Queensland, including Nambour Hospital in 2015-2016. In 2017, he completed an IBD Telehealth Fellowship at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, further honing his knowledge and skills in IBD treatment. That same year, he was awarded his Fellowship by the Australasian College of Physicians.

Continuing his pursuit of excellence, Dr Croft undertook a Senior Clinical Fellowship at the renowned John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, UK, from 2018 to 2019. During his time there, he gained additional training in general gastroenterology, hepatology, and inflammatory bowel disease treatment. He actively participated in the hospital's clinical trial program.

Dr Croft's commitment to improving patient care is evident in his continuous educational pursuits. He received specialised training in intestinal ultrasound from the University Hospital Erlangen Medical Clinic in Germany, following the completion of his fellowship. Having been actively involved in gastroenterological research since 2005, Dr Croft was awarded a Master of Philosophy degree by the University of Queensland in 2019. His thesis focused on clinical outcomes prediction in acute ulcerative colitis. Additionally, he contributes to the medical literature, participates in important IBD clinical trials, and imparts his knowledge to future doctors as a Senior Lecturer at the University of Queensland.
