Dr. Andrew Sefton is an adept orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in hip, knee and trauma surgery. He holds fellowships from the Australian Orthopaedic Association and the Royal Australian College of Surgeons. Dr. Sefton takes great satisfaction in helping people return to the activities they love doing and takes a compassionate and thorough approach to every surgery he performs.
Dr. Sefton has augmented his skills with additional sub-specialty training. He completed a fellowship at McMasters University in North America, where he developed his expertise in hip arthroplasty, knee arthroplasty and revision arthroplasty. He also completed a trauma and arthroplasty fellowship at Royal North Shore Hospital in Sydney, which further enhanced his skills in complex orthopaedic traumas, including pelvic reconstruction, non-union, bone loss, malunion and deformity correction.
In addition to his focus on lower limb operations and trauma, Dr Sefton has cultivated interests in robotic surgery, arthroscopy, sports injury management, joint preservation technology and analgesia. He performs arthroscopic surgeries for cartilage and ligament reconstructions in the knee, inclusive of ACL, PCL and PLC reconstructions as well as meniscus repairs. Dr Sefton can also administer injections of hyaluronic acid, platelet rich plasma (PRP) and corticosteroids.
Dr. Sefton grew up in the Central West of New South Wales, and he is grateful for the opportunity to provide services to the region. He serves patients in both Sydney and the Dubbo/Central West region, and enjoys the mix of rural and urban orthopaedics. With his patient-centred approach and advanced skills, Dr. Sefton is dedicated to helping his patients achieve their goals and live their best lives.
