A/Prof Andrew Morokoff

Associate Professor Morokoff is an accomplished consultant neurosurgeon with a wealth of experience in minimally invasive spinal surgery procedures. After graduating from The University of Melbourne in 1994, he completed his neurosurgery training at prestigious hospitals like the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Children’s Hospital, and St Vincent’s Hospital. In recognition of his training and exceptional skill, he was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2005.

Dr Morokoff has always been dedicated to furthering his education and specialization in the field of neurosurgery. He completed a post-graduate training programme in brain tumour surgery at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Harvard University in Boston, USA. Following that, he gained further training and experience in paediatric neurosurgery at the Necker Hospital for Children in Paris, France. His research contribution to the field of neurooncology has gained him a PhD in the molecular biology of brain tumours.

Presently, Dr Morokoff is appointed consulting neurosurgeon at Royal Melbourne Hospital and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Surgery at The University of Melbourne. He heads the Brain Tumour and Epilepsy Laboratory, where his expertise and experience are put to work in offering effective treatment options to his patients. He has a unique approach to neurosurgery, which is centered on patient care, ensuring that every patient is well-informed and fully involved in the treatment process.
