Dr. Amir Zangiabadi is an experienced Consultant Respiratory Physician and Interventional Pulmonologist. He gained his fellowship of The Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2016 while undergoing training in respiratory medicine at Flinders Medical Centre and The Royal Adelaide Hospital, followed by a fellowship in intensive care medicine at Monash Medical Centre. Additionally, he completed a clinical fellowship in interventional pulmonology at Glenfield Hospital in Leicester, United Kingdom, where he gained further knowledge in the field of lung cancer and pleural disease.
Dr. Zangiabadi has an interest in all respiratory disorders and is highly skilled in the management of patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions, including chronic cough, asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis, and interstitial lung disease. He has specialized knowledge in diagnosing and staging lung cancer using minimally invasive methods and management of pleural infections and malignancies.
Dr. Zangiabadi performs various procedures to diagnose and treat respiratory diseases, including diagnostic chest ultrasound, chest drain insertion, bronchoscopy, endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS), local anesthetic video thoracoscopy, and indwelling pleural catheter insertions for the management of refractory pleural effusions.
Dr. Zangiabadi is an Iranian by nationality and can communicate fluently in both English and Farsi. He currently holds a public appointment in respiratory medicine at Frankston Hospital and consults at Frankston Private and Holmesglen Private Hospitals. He is dedicated to providing the best care possible and ensuring his patients' comfort and well-being.
