Dr Alexandra Mowat

Dr Mowat is a highly qualified and experienced specialist in General Gynaecology and Obstetrics. Her expertise lies in offering comprehensive treatment options for women with gynaecological and pelvic floor problems, which are common, particularly after childbirth. In 2014, she completed her FRANZCOG training in General Gynaecology and Obstetrics and went on to complete a 3-year fellowship in Urogynaecology at the Gold Coast University Hospital and the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital.

During her honorary fellowship with the colorectal surgeons at the QEII hospital, she gained further training in bowel dysfunction, including anal physiology and surgery. Her extensive training has provided her with the skills to offer a wide range of treatments to women with pelvic floor, bladder and bowel conditions.

Dr Mowat is dedicated to providing holistic and patient-centred care and has established professional relationships with other specialists, including pelvic floor physiotherapists and colorectal surgeons to ensure that her patients receive comprehensive multidisciplinary care. She is also a lecturer at the University of Queensland and has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals, particularly in the field of surgery for pelvic floor dysfunction.
