Dr Andrew Foote is an Obstetrics & Gynaecology specialist with over two decades of experience in the field. He obtained his medical degree from Newcastle, Sydney, and Manchester universities and further specialized in Urogyaecology in 2000. In 2003, Dr Foote earned a Medical Doctorate, focusing on the cost effectiveness of Urogynaecological Treatments.
Throughout his career, Dr Foote has held various clinical and administrative positions. Since 1998, he has been a Visiting Medical Officer at the Calvary Public & Private Hospitals, The Canberra Hospital, John James Private Hospital, National Capital Private Hospital, and Barton Private Hospital. Additionally, he conducts regional outpatient clinics in Mogo, Bowral, and Wollongong.
Dr Foote has demonstrated leadership within the medical community, having served in several esteemed roles. He was the Chairman of the Calvary OG Department from 2001 to 2005, President of the ACT Australian Medical Association (AMA) from 2006 to 2008, Chairman of the ACT Royal Australian College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) Regional Committee from 2009 to 2013, President of the National Association of Specialist Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (NASOG) from 2011 to 2014, and Chairman of the 2012 RANZCOG Canberra ASM.
Dr Foote's expertise encompasses a range of areas within his field, including bladder and pelvic floor problems, day surgical treatments such as Mirena, sling, ablation, vaginal repairs, contraception, and abnormal paps. He has contributed to the medical literature with his published works, both nationally and internationally.
Outside of medicine, Dr Foote enjoys pursuing personal interests such as skiing, touch football, scrabble, and computers. He is a loving father of five children, including twins. Currently, Dr Foote serves as a Senior Lecturer at the Australian National University, where he continues to contribute to the development of future medical professionals.
