Dr Akshay Mishra

Dr Akshay Mishra is an experienced cardiologist specialising in interventional cardiology and vascular medicine. He is currently based in Everton Park, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, and is affiliated with North West Private Hospital and Caboolture Private Hospital. Dr Mishra obtained his MBBS and MD degrees from the esteemed Armed Forces Medical College in India. After serving in the Indian Army for ten years, including two years with the Special Forces, he relocated to Australia to pursue further training and career opportunities.

Upon arriving in Australia, Dr Mishra gained valuable experience at various hospitals in Queensland and the United States. He completed a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York, where he received extensive training in coronary and peripheral procedures under the guidance of Dr Gary Roubin. Dr Mishra then continued his training in Canberra before joining The Prince Charles Hospital in Brisbane as a Staff Specialist.

In 2014, Dr Mishra established his successful private practice at Holy Spirit Northside Private Hospital, where he continues to provide expert care to patients. He currently consults at both North West Private Hospital and Holy Spirit Northside Private Hospital. His areas of expertise include primary angioplasty for acute myocardial infarction, complex coronary and peripheral interventions, carotid stenting, and imaging modalities to evaluate coronary and structural heart disease.
