Kingaroy, an agricultural locality and town, is situated in the South Burnett Region of Queensland. The area lies around 210 km from the state capital Brisbane. The surrounding localities of Kingaroy include Crawford, Corndale, Memerambi, Gordonbrook, Booie, Coolbunia, Inverlaw, and Taabinga.
As of June 2018, Kingaroy recorded a population of 10,398 inhabitants. Further, Kingaroy is the largest town in the South Burnett region and is the area’s commercial centre.
Being the largest peanut processing plant in Australia, Kingaroy is also known as the “Peanut Capital of Australia”. Besides, the area is also popular for being the hometown of Sir Joh Bjelke-Petersen, the former Premier of Queensland. The site has a humid subtropical climate having cool to cold winters and warm to hot summers.

History of Kingaroy The town is believed to have got its name from the Aboriginal word for “Red Ant” in Wakka Wakka language. The local Kingaroy Rugby League football team is popularly called “the Red Ants”. The rural settlement of Kingaroy dates back to 1843. In 2004, the town celebrated its Centenary.
