Albany is a busy port city located in the Great Southern region of Western Australia. It lies around 418 km on the southeastern side of Perth. Albany is best known for being the oldest colonial settlement. On the northern side of Princess Royal Harbour is the City Centre, which is one of the city's major attractions. The city has dry and warm summers, while winters are wet and mild. Autumn and spring are the most pleasant seasons. As per the census of 2018, the population of Albany was 34,205.

Living in Albany Albany is a prosperous town with several flourishing industries like timber, fishing, agriculture, and tourism. This is a well-connected town by airlines and bus services. In 1994, the railway's station reopened as the tourist information centre. There are many primary schools, one university campus and eight high schools in the region. There are many heritage buildings in the area, including the famous Patrick Taylor Cottage and St. John's Church.

Major Attractions of Albany Albany city centre is situated between the hills of Mount Clarence and Mount Melville. Tourists visiting Albany love to spend time at the many beaches surrounding Albany. Middleton Beach is one of the popular beaches which is located quite close to the town centre. Tourists also love to visit other beaches, including Muttonbird Island and Frenchman Bay. Albany is also known as the wine region.

History of Albany After establishing the city in 1826, the settlement was named Frederick Town. However, a few years later, this settlement was given the new name 'Albany' by Lieutenant Governor James Stirling. The region was previously the home to Mengang Noongar tribes in the summer. The tribes would camp quite close to 'Boondie Yokine'.
