Dr Zenia Chow

Dr Zenia Chow is a highly-trained Otolaryngologist (ENT) Head and Neck Surgeon with expertise in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Born and raised in Australia, Dr Chow received a full academic scholarship to complete a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery with honours from the University of Melbourne. As a Dean’s Honours list member during her undergraduate studies, she commenced General Surgery training in Victoria before pursuing ENT training in Perth, Western Australia where she became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2013.

With over ten years of experience, Dr Chow completed three Clinical Fellowships which have enabled her to acquire extensive experience and knowledge in Head and Neck, and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. She completed a Facial Plastic Surgery Fellowship in Perth under the guidance of Dr Tuan Pham, which was recognised by the Australasian Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery (AAFPS). Her fellowships at the University of Virginia, USA under the mentorship of Professor Paul Levine and Professor Stephen Park – both international leaders in their fields – gave her further specialised training in Head and Neck and Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Additionally, Dr Chow honed her skills with Professor Wayne Larrabee and Professor Kris Moe by completing a Facial Plastic Surgery Fellowship at the University of Washington, Seattle, USA.

Dr Chow is actively involved in teaching medical students and ENT Registrars. She values knowledge transfer to the next generation of surgeons and is dedicated to helping patients access the best care possible. Additionally, she is a part of the Healthy Ears Indigenous Health Program in the Mallee District, which serves patients from Victoria, South Australia, and New South Wales. This program is a part of the Federal Government’s ‘Closing the Gap’ initiative, and Dr Chow has used her training in the Kimberley to improve the lives of Indigenous children.

Dr Chow is committed to staying up-to-date with the latest developments in her field, and regularly attends national and international conferences and courses to provide her patients with cutting-edge treatments. She has also published research on functional rhinoplasty, parotidectomy, and cleft nasal deformity and has presented at several national conferences. Her qualifications in Facial Plastic Surgery are recognised by the AAFPS, and she is the only surgeon in Victoria who has completed a Facial Plastic Surgery Fellowship.
