Dr Vijay Lazar

Dr Vijay Lazar is a Psychiatrist based in Bibra Lake, Perth, Western Australia. He has been working as a consultant at Fremantle Hospital since 2010. Dr Lazar is highly experienced in all aspects of general adult psychiatry and is particularly interested in the assessment and management of mood, anxiety, and psychotic disorders.

Dr Lazar obtained his medical degree (MBBS) from Calicut University in 1994. He then completed his DPM from Kerala University in 1999, followed by his DNB from the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi, in 2003. In 2009, he achieved his FRANZCP qualification.

With a special interest in schizophrenia, Dr Lazar offers expertise in the assessment and management of various mental health conditions. His areas of expertise include anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, psychosis, and schizophrenia.

Dr Lazar is an accredited Supervisor and Examiner of post-graduate trainees in Psychiatry. He is fluent in English, and also speaks Malayalam and Tamil.

Dr Lazar provides services including opinion and report as well as shared care. He primarily works with patients in the age group of 18 to 60.

Dr Lazar's main focus is on the assessment and management of mood disorders (depression and bipolar affective disorder), anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, and other psychotic disorders. He kindly requests that no ADD/ADHD referrals be made.
