Dr Thato Mabote is a skilled Interventional Cardiologist specialising in intracoronary imaging and physiological assessments to optimize percutaneous interventions. With a special interest in cardiovascular risk assessment and modification, he is an expert in the management of chest pain, shortness of breath, palpitations, and preventive cardiology.
Dr Mabote received his medical degree from Trinity College, Dublin and completed his cardiology training at Leeds General Infirmary, a leading interventional and structural heart disease center in the United Kingdom. He also holds a Doctorate in Medical Sciences for his research in 'Novel Concepts for Non-Invasive Telemonitoring in Chronic Heart Failure.'
As a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Australia, Dr Mabote underwent dedicated fellowship training in advanced percutaneous coronary interventions at Fiona Stanley Hospital in Perth for two years. During this time, he gained vast experience performing percutaneous valve therapies and other structural interventions.
Dr Mabote is an experienced Senior Lecturer at the University of Western Australia, where he contributes to the development of future doctors. He maintains an active interest in research and was a sub-principal investigator for ILUMIEN IV (Optical Coherence Tomography) clinical trial, and contributed to recruiting patients for the Onyx ONE (Optimal Treatment of High Bleeding Risk Patients) clinical trial.
