Dr Weight went on to pursue further specialisation in surgery, becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in the United Kingdom in 1994 and completing his Fellowship in General Surgery in 2000.

In 2001, Dr Weight obtained his Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (CCST) in an unknown area. He then moved to Australia and obtained his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2004, solidifying his expertise in the field.
