Dr Shweta Sahay is a highly skilled and experienced cardiologist based in Wentworth Point, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. She obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, India. She also holds an AMC Certificate from the Australian Medical Council.
Dr Sahay is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, with a specialization in adult medicine. She has a keen interest in cardiology and is particularly focused on the field of structural heart disease, specifically heart valve disease. She has expertise in primary and complex Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCIs), including ostial, bifurcation, left main, and graft PCI. Dr Sahay is skilled in various intervention imaging techniques such as Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT), Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS), and synchronized IVUS. She also performs physiological procedures including Fractional Flow Reserve (FFR), Instantaneous Wave-Free Ratio (iFR), and Coronary Flow Reserve (CFR). In addition, she has extensive experience in treating structural heart disease, including procedures such as ASD/PFO closure, Left Atrial Appendage (LAA) closure, Transcatheter Aortic Valve Insertion (TAVI), and MitraClip. She is also proficient in peripheral interventions, including renal angioplasty, renal denervation, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) insertion, and Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR). Dr Sahay is well-versed in Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) as well.
Aside from her medical skills, Dr Sahay is multilingual, speaking fluent English, Hindi, and Marathi. She also has a good command of Spanish and can understand Gujarati and Punjabi.
