Dr William Chik is an accomplished Interventional Cardiac Electrophysiologist and Adult General Cardiologist with over a decade of experience in the field. He presently serves as a Consultant Cardiologist (VMO) at the public hospitals of Westmead and Auburn, while simultaneously functioning as an Accredited Cardiologist at the Westmead and Norwest Private Hospitals. Dr Chik specialises in the management of cardiac arrhythmias, heart failure, hypertension, and heart rhythm, alongside the implantation of pacemakers, implantable defibrillators, and biventricular pacing for delivering cardiac resynchronization therapy to heart failure patients. Throughout his distinguished academic career, Dr Chik pursued a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery programs from the University of Adelaide and was admitted as a Fellow to the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2009. He earned his PhD degree in Cardiac Electrophysiology from the University of Sydney in 2015. With a focus on active clinical teaching, he serves as a Senior Clinical Lecturer with the University of Sydney. Dr Chik has served as the Clinical Lead for Post-Graduate Cardiology Training at Westmead Hospital, where he utilised his enthusiasm and commitment to teaching to educate others in this field. He is a current Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (FCSANZ), and the American College of Cardiology (FACC). Dr Chik has been recognized internationally and nationally for his prolific work in cardiac research, which includes over hundred-peer-reviewed publications and abstract presentations. He has contributed to the field of Cardiac Electrophysiology through research with renowned world-leading experts in the hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA, where he completed his Clinical Interventional Fellowship in Cardiac Arrhythmias and Cardiac Device Management. Additionally, Dr Chik can converse fluently in Cantonese and Mandarin.
