Dr Shannon Sim is an Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in knee, ankle, and shoulder surgeries. He is currently practicing in Morphett Vale, Adelaide. Dr Sim holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Adelaide, which he obtained in 2000. He furthered his training and achieved Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2011, focusing on orthopaedics.
In 2013, Dr Sim completed a Fellowship in Sports Medicine at the Fowler Kennedy Sports Medicine Centre in Canada. During his time there, he gained extensive experience treating sports injuries of world-class and Olympic athletes. This included providing on-field coverage for varsity teams and participating in workshops and courses with renowned surgeons in North America.
With his diverse background, Dr Sim brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his practice. He is particularly interested in arthroscopy (keyhole surgery), ligament reconstructive surgery, ACL reconstruction (Anterior Cruciate Ligament), and PRP injections (Platelet Rich Plasma). He has a special interest in shoulder, knee, and ankle injuries.
Dr Sim currently leads the only Sports Injuries Clinic in the public hospital system of South Australia. This multidisciplinary clinic features Sports Physicians, Physiotherapists, and Orthopaedic Surgeons, providing comprehensive management for all sports injuries.
