Dr Sarah Garner

Dr. Sarah Garner is a highly qualified Infectious Disease Specialist and Medical Microbiologist based in Melbourne, Australia. She holds dual specialty fellowships as a physician (FRACP) and pathologist (FRCPA) and works as a general ID Physician and Medical Microbiologist in both private and public sectors.

Dr. Garner completed her undergraduate degree in Bachelor of Medical Science with First Class Honours. Being experienced in the HIV sector, she carried out further research in HIV after finishing specialty training. In 2022, she completed her PhD studies at WEHI, where her research focused on the role of cell death pathways in eradicating the latent reservoir of HIV.

Dr. Garner is passionate about providing integrated care to her patients, ensuring they are partners in their health management. She has also been involved in developing guidelines for Infectious Diseases management for regional Victorian GPs. Her expertise is further extended to teaching medical students and junior doctors through her public appointments at Monash Health and Austin Health.
