Dr Prashanth Rao

Dr Prashanth Rao is a highly qualified and experienced neurosurgeon with a keen interest in spinal and peripheral nerve surgery. He has undergone rigorous sub-specialty training in these areas, and his commitment to providing the best possible outcomes for his patients is unwavering. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Rao is also focused on research and teaching, and is a conjoint senior lecturer at the University of New South Wales.

Dr Rao holds a PhD from UNSW and FRACS from RACS, in addition to an MRCS from the UK and an MBBS, MS (Gen Surgery), DNB. He has completed fellowships at the Royal Adelaide Hospital, Australia (Spine Fellow) and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, London, UK (Peripheral Nerve Surgery Fellow).

Dr Rao currently holds appointments as a VMO Neurosurgeon at Southern Highlands Private Hospital, Westmead Private Hospital, Prince of Wales Private Hospital (Randwick), and Hurstville Private Hospital. He also provides consulting services in Bowral (every alternate Wednesday), Prince of Wales Private Hospital (every Friday and alternate Thursdays), Hurstville (every 2nd week), and Miranda (every alternate Thursday).
