Dr Philip Currie

Dr. Philip Currie is a highly skilled and experienced cardiologist based in Nedlands, Perth, Western Australia. With over 30 years of experience in both the United States and Australia, he provides a comprehensive range of cardiac services to his patients. Dr. Currie specialises in echocardiography and offers services such as adult and pediatric echocardiography, stress testing, transesophageal echo, blood pressure monitoring, Holter monitoring, cardiology consultations, ECG, event monitors, vascular scanning, and in-lab and home-based sleep studies.

Dr. Currie obtained his medical degree (MBBS) and completed his residency at Monash University in Melbourne. He then went on to complete a two-year cardiology fellowship at the Alfred Hospital before gaining further experience in the United States. He completed a two-year fellowship at the prestigious Mayo Clinic and later worked as a Senior Associate Cardiologist at the same institution. He also spent three years as a staff cardiologist at the renowned Cleveland Clinic before becoming the Director of Echocardiography at the Michigan Heart and Vascular Institute in Michigan. Additionally, Dr. Currie served as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Detroit Medical Centre, Wayne State University, where he focused on echocardiography, valvular heart disease, and adult congenital heart disease.

In 1997, Dr. Currie returned to Australia and joined the Royal Perth Hospital as a consultant. Since then, he has established a highly successful cardiology practice that offers innovative and integrated specialist care. Dr. Currie is also a consultant sports cardiologist for several professional WA and National Sporting Associations, trusted by professional athletes who require accurate specialist diagnostics for optimal medical management.
