Dr Philip Bergersen

Dr Philip Bergersen is a highly experienced senior Urologist who has been practicing on the North Shore of Sydney for over 30 years. He is affiliated with several reputable hospitals including Sydney Adventist, North Shore Private, The Mater, and Hornsby Ku-ringai Hospitals, and has a private practice based in Chatswood and Hornsby.

Dr Bergersen completed his undergraduate degree at Adelaide University in 1981 before undertaking his residency in Sydney. He gained his Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (Urology) in 1990 and then went on to pursue a post-graduate fellowship at the esteemed University of Nijmegen in The Netherlands. He returned to Sydney and commenced his private practice on the North Shore in 1992.

Dr Bergersen has held several important positions in his career, including the role of former head of Urology at the SAN, head of the section of Urology at Hornsby, and supervisor of Urology registrar training. He is also a member of the Quality Control Review Committee at the SAN and actively participates in the Multi-disciplinary Cancer Meeting.

Apart from his extensive experience in General Urology, Dr Bergersen has a keen interest in several specialized areas including Uro-oncology, Robotic surgery, Laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery, laser surgery, Brachytherapy, Stone disease, and benign prostate disease. He is also a published author and a presenter at international meetings, and consistently stays up-to-date with the latest advancements in his field through continued attendance at local and international conferences.
