Mr Peter Skillington

Peter Skillington is a well-respected cardiothoracic surgeon at Epworth Healthcare Richmond Campus with experience and training in both General Surgery and Cardiothoracic Surgery in Australia. He has also had overseas training experience, spending a total of 12 months in Southampton, UK, and Boston, USA, where he worked in various hospital institutions. His six months at Brigham Women's Hospital were spent doing adult cardiac surgery, while his 6 months at Boston Children’s Hospital specialized in pediatric congenital cardiac surgery.

In Melbourne, he was initially appointed at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Royal Children’s Hospital and Epworth Healthcare. He’s currently the Deputy Director of the Cardiothoracic Unit at the Royal Melbourne Hospital, and has maintained a close working relationship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) and the Australasian Society of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgeons (ASCTS). His tenure as the ASCTS President from 2001 to 2003 was a great success, marking an excellent track record of leadership skills and professionalism.
