Dr Nicholas Aroney is a highly skilled and experienced Interventional and Structural Cardiologist based in Chermside, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Born and raised in Queensland, Dr Aroney received his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery with First Class Honours from Griffith University in 2011.

After completing his undergraduate studies, Dr Aroney furthered his training at the Royal Brisbane and Prince Charles Hospitals, where he obtained a Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians in Adult Cardiology. Following this, he underwent an intensive two-year coronary and structural fellowship at The Prince Charles Hospital, enhancing his expertise in the field.

Seeking to expand his knowledge and gain exposure to world-class standards of care, Dr Aroney was selected as the Structural Heart Fellow at St Thomas’ Hospital, London, United Kingdom, known for its excellence in Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI), adult structural, and adult congenital heart procedures. During his time at St Thomas’, Dr Aroney was actively involved in international trials and had the opportunity to participate in groundbreaking first-in-man procedures.

Dr Aroney's clinical interests and expertise lie in the management of aortic stenosis, acute coronary syndromes, structural heart disease, cardiac 3D modelling, and risk factor modification. He has contributed to the medical community through his publications in peer-reviewed journals and regularly presents at national and international conferences.

In his practice, Dr Aroney performs a range of coronary and structural interventions, including percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), and adult congenital interventions such as PFO and ASD closure. He is nationally accredited as a TAVI practitioner.

Currently, Dr Nicholas Aroney practices at Mater Public and Mater Private Hospitals in South Brisbane, as well as St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside. Additionally, he is proud to be a member of Heart of Australia, an organization that delivers valuable cardiac services to regional Queensland. Dr Aroney also holds the title of associate lecturer at The University of Queensland, further advancing medical education and training in his field.
