Dr Nichita Gavrilescu

Dr Nichita Gavrilescu, MBBS (Hons), BMedSci (Hons), FRACP (Nephrology), is a dedicated nephrologist with extensive expertise in managing a broad range of kidney disorders, including chronic kidney disease, dialysis, electrolyte imbalances, and kidney transplant. His professional journey in nephrology began after graduating with honours from Monash University in 2015. He then honed his skills through specialist fellowship training at notable institutions including Northern Hospital, Austin Hospital, and Alfred Hospital. Currently, Dr. Gavrilescu holds prestigious positions in the renal units at both Northern and Alfred Hospitals. His clinical responsibilities include managing the Glomerulonephritis clinic and the Transplant clinic, providing critical care and innovative treatment solutions. His practice covers a wide array of nephrological conditions such as high blood pressure, glomerulonephritis, kidney failure, kidney stones, nephrotic syndrome, tubular defects, urinary tract infections, and vasculitis among others. Beyond clinical practice, Nichita is committed to the education of medical students and junior doctors. He played a pivotal role in co-ordinating the Royal Australian College of Physicians Fellowship examination as the senior medical registrar at Northern Health in 2020.
