Dr. Niamh Anna O'Sullivan is a highly skilled and experienced specialist in Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologist focussing on skin cancers - including the detection, treatment and prevention of future cancers. She has gained expertise in managing Basal Cell Cancers (BCC), Squamous Cell Cancers, and early Melanoma. She is the Vice President (Dermatology) and Director of the Australasian Dermatopathology Society, and a Senior Clinical Lecturer at UNSW.

Dr. O'Sullivan obtained her medical degree, MBBCh, from Cardiff in 2002. She went on to pursue a PhD from Harvard University and University College London between 2003 and 2008. In 2011, she obtained the MRCS (Ed) from Edinburgh. In 2019, she achieved the prestigious FACD qualification in Australia.

Dr. O'Sullivan's interests lie primarily in Mohs Surgery. She specialises in Mohs micrographic surgery, standard surgical excisions, staged serial excision of lentigo maligna (melanoma in-situ), and surgical reconstruction using flaps and skin grafts. Additionally, she offers non-surgical management options for certain skin cancers. Alongside her specialised work, Dr. O'Sullivan provides comprehensive full skin checks, skin cancer diagnosis, and runs an adolescent acne clinic.

Dr. O'Sullivan has received several academic prizes throughout her career, including the Research Excellence Award from the International Cartilage Repair Society in San Diego. She has also been granted the Porex Surgical Travelling Fellowship and the Mercedes-Benz USA Fellowship from the Plastic Surgery Educational Foundation, American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Her research has contributed significantly to the medical field, with numerous publications in prestigious journals. She co-authored the article 'Psoriasis aggravation due to capecitabine: A case study and review of the literature' in The Australasian Journal of Dermatology. Other publications include 'Evaluation of Australian dermatological postoperative patient information leaflets: should we have a national checklist?' and 'Adhesion and Integration of Tissue Engineered Cartilage to Porous Polyethylene for Composite Ear Reconstruction.'
