Dr Mun Khin Chan

Dr. Mun Khin Chan is an accomplished trilingual orthopaedic surgeon who has specialized in upper limb and trauma surgery. He primarily focuses on shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand conditions. He completed his MBBS from the University of New South Wales in 2010 and his training in orthopaedic surgery in NSW. Dr. Chan has been awarded the Fellowship of the Australian Orthopaedic Association (FAOA) and the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). He has completed fellowships in shoulder and elbow surgery with a specific focus on arthroscopy, arthroplasty and sports injuries. In addition to his specialization, he also undertook a hand and wrist fellowship to expand his skillset in managing hand and wrist pathologies.

Dr. Chan believes in working collaboratively with his patients to formulate customized plans, to help them get back to their lives with their ailments cured. He is involved in research and teaching. Dr. Chan's presentations in several national conferences and publications in international scientific journals have received accolades. He was also presented with the Dean's Award for Excellence in Teaching by the University of Newcastle.

When he is not working, Dr. Chan loves to indulge in sports and is a 3rd Dan Taekwondo black belt holder. He was a national and international level champion in sports Taekwondo and even coached the UNSW Taekwondo Club team. His interests include treating shoulder and elbow arthroscopy and arthroplasty, wrist arthroscopy, hand conditions such as carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger and Dupuytren’s contracture, and trauma and sports injury-care.
