Michael Reyes

Dr. Michael Reyes is an accomplished Consultant Endocrinologist based in Sydney. He is highly passionate about providing excellent medical care to his patients while ensuring that their treatment is equitable and evidence-based. His areas of clinical expertise include diabetes management, metabolic syndrome, pregnancy-related endocrine disorders, obesity, as well as adrenal, parathyroid, and thyroid disorders. Additionally, he has extensive experience in treating conditions such as polycystic ovarian syndrome.

Dr. Reyes is renowned for his contribution to the establishment of the Endocrine Transplant Clinic at St Vincent's Hospital in Sydney. Here, he was instrumental in creating screening protocols for patients who had undergone heart and lung transplants and had subsequently developed diabetes and osteoporosis. Dr. Reyes's expertise in diabetes management has also seen him become an integral part of the Pre-gestational and Gestational Diabetes Clinics at St George Hospital. Moreover, he runs a Transition and Young Adult Diabetes Service that ensures that care is seamlessly provided to late adolescents and young adults living with diabetes.

He attended the Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas in Manila, where he earned his Bachelor of Science and medical degree. Dr. Reyes launched his medical career as a junior medical officer at St. Vincent's Hospital in Sydney, where he spent most of his career. He went on to complete his endocrinology specialization training at The Garvan Institute of Medical Research, St Vincent's Hospital, and St George Hospital in Kogarah. He is also a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

Dr. Reyes is a Conjoint Associate Lecturer at the University of New South Wales, and he regularly participates in national and international meetings. He is an active member of important healthcare organisations such as the Australian Diabetes Society, Australian Medical Association, Endocrine Society of Australia, US Endocrine Society, and the Australia and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society.
