Dr Michael Braude is an exceptionally skilled Gastroenterologist based in Malvern, Melbourne. He provides exceptional care in all aspects of Gastroenterology and general endoscopy, with a special focus on metabolic fatty liver disease. Dr Braude graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2010 and completed his basic physician training at St Vincent’s Hospital. He then undertook advanced training at Austin and Eastern Health before achieving fellowship to the Royal Australian College of Physicians in 2018.
Dr Braude's dedication to research led him to complete a PhD in liver disease among marginalised populations at Monash Health and Monash University. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals worldwide and focuses on topics such as hepatitis C virus prevalence in people with serious mental illness, liver disease prevalence and severity in people with serious mental illness, and the acute medical stabilisation of adults with anorexia nervosa.
As an affiliate of Monash Health, Dr Braude is actively involved in ongoing fatty liver disease research and clinical trials. He is well-versed in managing a wide range of gastroenterological issues, including inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and liver disease. Dr Braude has expertise in performing upper and lower Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy), including polypectomy.
Outside of his medical practice, Dr Braude enjoys spending time with his three young children, engaging in games of chasey.
