Dr Matthew Erickson

Dr. Matthew Erickson is a highly qualified cardiologist with expertise in general cardiology, heart failure management, assessment and management of chest pain, and echocardiography. He completed his medical education from the University of Western Australia and pursued physician and general cardiology training at Royal Perth Hospital.

Currently, Dr. Erickson serves as a Consultant Cardiologist & Clinical Lead in Echocardiography at Fiona Stanley and a Consultant Cardiologist at Royal Perth Hospital. He has previously worked in the WA Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplant service and held a teaching position as an Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia's School of Medicine. He also has a special interest in aboriginal health and regularly travels to the Ngaanyatjarra Lands to provide visiting cardiology services.

Dr. Erickson's expertise lies in the assessment of ischaemia, management of patients with heart failure, echocardiographic assessment of the heart (including stress and transoesophageal echocardiography), and coronary revascularisation. He has gained dual sub-specialties in interventional cardiology and echocardiography and has made significant contributions to these fields. Dr. Erickson is known for his patient-centric approach and provides individualized care to each of his patients.
