Dr Manjunath Siddaiah-Subramanya

Dr Subramanya is a highly trained specialist general surgeon who began his professional career in the UK before moving to Queensland, Australia, to continue his education. After completing his general surgery training, Dr Subramanya undertook further sub-speciality training in Upper GI surgery. He also completed a senior fellowship in Upper GI cancer surgery through the National AANZGOSA program.

His areas of expertise include Oesophago-Gastric surgeries and Bariatric surgeries. As an upper GI surgeon, he is one of the very few in NSW to have received training in all facets (Cancer, benign and hiatal surgeries, and bariatrics) of upper GI surgery in high volume institutes across Australasia and Europe.

Dr Subramanya has led research projects across the UK and Australia investigating gastric and oesophageal cancers as well as surgical methodologies. This has resulted in multiple publications, book chapters and two prestigious Masters. He continues to demonstrate active engagement and leadership in the field by supervising and mentoring students, surgical trainees and Master's students in both research and surgical education.

Dr Subramanya is a national influence as an executive board member for The Australian and Aotearoa New Zealand Gastric and Oesophageal Surgery Association, The Royal Australian College of Surgeons (Upper Gastrointestinal sub-committee) and Sydney Upper GI Surgical Society.
