Dr Jonathan Teoh

Dr Jonathan Teoh is a highly skilled and experienced cardiologist, specialising in the diagnosis and treatment of heart-related disorders. Dr Teoh practices primarily in the suburb of Joondalup, located in Perth, Western Australia.

Dr Teoh obtained his medical degree (MBBS) in 2003 from The University of Western Australia. Following his initial medical training, he pursued further education and training in cardiology. He completed his basic physician training at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital, followed by advanced training in Cardiology at both Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and Fremantle Hospitals. He also completed a Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital.

Driven by his passion for delivering the highest standard of care, Dr Teoh sought additional education and training opportunities in the United States. From 2014 to 2016, he completed a subspecialty fellowship training in advanced echocardiography at Massachusetts General Hospital, affiliated with Harvard Medical School in Boston.

Dr Teoh's areas of special interest include atrial fibrillation, complex valvular disease (such as mitral regurgitation and aortic stenosis), and heart failure/cardiomyopathies. He has advanced expertise in clinical echocardiography, including transesophageal echocardiography (TOE). This specialised imaging technique is used for diagnostic purposes and provides guidance during percutaneous structural cardiac procedures, such as transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI), left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) devices, and MitraClip procedures. Dr Teoh also performs stress echocardiography to evaluate cardiac function under physical stress.
