Prof Jenny Deague

Prof Jenny Deague is an accomplished physician with a career spanning over three decades. She is currently a practicing cardiologist, serving public patients at Joondalup Health Campus and private patients at Joondalup Private Hospital and Hollywood Private Hospital in Perth, Western Australia.

Dr Deague graduated with an MBBS from the University of Melbourne in 1990. She then completed her residency and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians (FRACP) at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Dr Deague further pursued her academic career by completing a PhD on Family Studies of Heart Size, Diastolic Function, and Haemodynamics in 2000. Simultaneously, she underwent advanced training in echocardiography at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Dr Deague also pursued additional fellowship training in echocardiography at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard University in the USA.

In recognition of her expertise, Dr Deague was appointed as Director of Cardiology at Joondalup Health Campus in 2012. In this role, she has overseen the expansion of the department, including the cardiac catheterisation and echocardiography laboratories, as well as the telemetry care unit. Additionally, Dr Deague is a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Joondalup Health Campus and serves as a Director of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand and the National Heart Foundation.

Dr Deague's extensive training and experience in cardiology have established her as a highly regarded physician in her field. Her contributions to the medical community, both as a practitioner and a leader, have earned her a reputation as a highly accomplished clinician and researcher.
