Dr Jeffrey Looi

Dr Looi has extensive experience working with a range of mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, brain injury, dementia-related disorders, depression, epilepsy, neuropsychiatry, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and post-traumatic stress disorder. He has a particular interest in schizophrenia.

As an Associate Professor and Head of Psychiatry, Old Age Psychiatry, and Neuropsychiatry at The ANU Medical School, Dr Looi is actively involved in research and academic pursuits. He is a founding member of the Section of Neuropsychiatry within the Faculties of Adult Psychiatry and Old Age Psychiatry at RANZCP. Additionally, he serves as the Network Coordinator for the Consortium of Australian-Academic Psychiatrists for Policy Research and Analysis (CAPIPRA) and the Australian United States Scandinavian-Spanish Imagine Exchange (AUSSIE), as well as the Network Coordinator for the Australian, US, Spanish-Scandinavian Imaging Exchange (AUSSIE).

Dr Looi offers a comprehensive range of services including opinion and report (MBS item 291), professional supervision, shared care, and is a registered Workcover provider. He specializes in working with military and veterans, as well as emergency services personnel.

Dr Looi adopts a collaborative approach to patient care, working alongside GPs, medical specialists (such as neurologists and geriatric medicine practitioners), psychologists, and other allied health professionals. He is also available for telepsychiatry services, providing care through video or telephone consultations.

Dr Looi operates a part-time office-based practice, dedicating one day per week to patient consultations. However, please note that he does not provide inpatient care.
