Dr Jamal Merei

Dr Jamal Merei is a highly qualified and experienced surgeon with a focus on gastrointestinal, colorectal, and paediatric surgery. He completed his surgical training in the United Kingdom and holds a fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow. He also earned his fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) after completing general surgery training through the Royal North Shore hospital network in Sydney, Australia in 2010.

Dr Merei is a knowledgeable doctor who obtained a Doctor of Medicine degree at the University of Melbourne in 1999 after conducting surgery research for two years at the Royal Children’s hospital. He has vast experience in paediatric surgery and provides expert surgical care for all gastrointestinal and colorectal conditions, including advanced laparoscopic colorectal surgery, endoscopy, and abdominal general surgery. His surgical expertise also extends to gallbladder surgery and abdominal wall hernias, both open and laparoscopic.

In addition, Dr Merei is an accredited endoscopist by the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA), with experience in performing gastroscopies and colonoscopies, and serving as a supervisor of Endoscopy for Surgical Trainees.
