Dr Iain Dunlop, an esteemed ophthalmologist, has dedicated his career to providing exceptional eye care services. specialising in cataract and refractive surgery, general ophthalmology, botulinum toxin therapies, strabismus, and retinal disorders, Dr Dunlop has gained an excellent reputation in his field.
Dr Dunlop obtained his medical degree, MBBS (Hons.), from a renowned institution and went on to complete his training at Sydney Eye Hospital. Further enhancing his expertise, he pursued additional training in London before establishing his practice in Canberra, where he continues to serve the community. Additionally, he maintains a practice in Sydney.
Dr Dunlop played a crucial role in the establishment of the Canberra Eye Hospital, which is widely acknowledged as the region's largest and most comprehensive eye care facility. His involvement in this project demonstrates his commitment to enhancing the accessibility and quality of eye care services for patients in the area.
Throughout his career, Dr Dunlop has actively contributed to the advancement of ophthalmology in Australia. He has been involved in the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (RANZCO), serving as College President in 2008 and 2009. Dr Dunlop is also deeply involved in teaching anterior segment surgery at Sydney Eye Hospital since 1988. In recognition of his expertise, he serves as the chairman of the Sydney Hospital Medical Safety Committee and contributes to various advisory committees under the Federal Department of Health.
Dr Dunlop's dedication to the field extends beyond his clinical practice. In 2005, he was elected to the board of Vision 2020 Australia, reflecting his commitment to improving the eye health of the population.
