Dr Haider Najjar

Dr Haider Najjar is a highly skilled Obstetrician Gynaecologist with over 20 years of experience in Women’s Health. He is a Monash University graduate, having completed his medical degree in 1992 before embarking on his Obstetrics and Gynaecology training at Monash Medical Centre. It was here that he was the proud recipient of the Young Scientists Award from the International Menopause Society for his research into Premature Menopause. Dr Najjar also went on to complete a Fellowship in advanced Laparoscopic and Minimally Invasive surgery at Monash Medical Centre where he was awarded the Travelling Fellowship by the Australian Gynaecology Endoscopic Society for his work conducting laparoscopic training workshops for registrars.

Dr Najjar is highly regarded for his skill set in complex laparoscopic procedures and is considered Australia's pioneer in Single-Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS). He practices at Mount Waverley, Malvern, Berwick, and Maryvale and his particular clinical interests include Fertility Surgery and the management of endometriosis and fibroids. He has been a Principal Fertility Specialist at Melbourne IVF for over a decade, and his expertise in advanced laparoscopic surgery has been internationally recognised, with numerous invitations to speak and present at prestigious medical events such as AGES Annual Scientific, SEUD Annual Congress, AAGL Global Congress, BIT Annual International Congress, ISGE Workshops, and many more.

Dr Najjar is dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care and providing his patients with a calming, reassuring approach that is individually tailored to their needs. He is also fluent in Arabic and German to ensure all patients feel comfortable and understood. In addition to his clinical work, Dr Najjar is involved in many aspects of the medical and surgical management of women’s health issues as an executive board member and the preceding Treasurer of AGES. His continual drive in providing excellence in Women’s Health is evident, and he is known for his highly effective surgical techniques that significantly improve patient outcomes.
