She obtained a Bachelor of Science with Honours from The University of London and subsequently earned her Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) with Honours in the United Kingdom in 1992. Her commitment to continued professional development is demonstrated by her membership with the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) in the United Kingdom and her Fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).

As part of her training, Dr Srivatsa completed her gastroenterology residency at The Royal Melbourne and Western Hospitals, further honing her skills in the diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal disorders. Additionally, she pursued postgraduate research in hepatobiliary disease, showcasing her dedication to advancing the field and uncovering new insights.

Dr Srivatsa's interests lie within the realm of Gastroenterology, focusing on areas such as Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), Colonoscopy, and Hepatology. Her expertise also extends to hepatology, where she actively participates in the Melbourne Liver Group, participating in numerous hepatitis meetings and serving in senior positions within the hospital's viral hepatitis and liver clinics.
