Dr Frank Buchanan

Meet Dr. Frank Buchanan, a highly skilled anaesthetist with a passion for interventional pain medicine. Graduating from Monash University and completing his anaesthesia training at the Alfred and Geelong Hospital training programmes, Frank has acquired the knowledge and expertise needed to provide exceptional care to his patients at Waverley Private Hospital.

Among Frank’s areas of expertise are chronic pelvic pain, complex regional pain, persistent postsurgical pain, spinal and radicular pain. He is particularly interested in regional anesthesia and has gained extensive experience in ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia. Frank's commitment to evidence-based anaesthetic and pain research has driven him to pursue a PhD in Epidemiology, with the final stages of his studies currently underway at Monash University.

Frank's dedication to teaching medical students and graduates is noteworthy. He actively participates in undergraduate and postgraduate education, sharing his expertise to ensure that young doctors gain valuable insights that will help enrich their future careers.
