Dr Dimitrios Papadopoulos

Dr. Papadopoulos is a respected sleep medicine physician in Australia, recognized for his outstanding work with sleep studies in children, especially those with special needs, orthodontic, and gastro-intestinal problems. He was appointed FRACP in General Pediatrics in 2002 and became the first accredited Level 2 Pediatric sleep physician in the Australasia region in 2003. Dr. Papadopoulos is the founder of the Paediatric Sleep Unit at St George Private Hospital, which is still the only Private Hospital Paediatric Sleep Unit in NSW that provides complete Paediatric Sleep Laboratory services, as well as being the director of the Paediatric Sleep Disorders Unit at the said hospital. He established The Adolescent Sleep Unit at St George Hospital, Australia's first multidisciplinary Sleep Clinic for developmentally delayed children. Dr. Papadopoulos also founded the Paediatric Sleep Clinic at the Department of Orthodontics at Sydney Dental Hospital to provide accessible and efficient medical assistance for children. He is a conjoint lecturer at the University of New South Wales and the University of Sydney and a staff specialist sleep paediatrician at St George Public Hospital. His comprehensive approach towards treating his patients is second to none. His expertise and methodologies are so superior that the Australian Sleep Association / National Association of Testing Authorities recently recognized his CPAP service with a commendation, setting the unit apart as unique amongst paediatric sleep laboratories in Sydney. Dr. Papadopoulos has also been featured in the media on numerous occasions to explain complex sleep conditions in a simple, engaging manner. He is fluent in Greek and can respond to urgent GP requests within 24-48 hours.
