Dr David de la Hunty

Dr David de la Hunty is an experienced Ophthalmologist based in Waikiki, Perth, Western Australia. With a primary focus on paediatric ophthalmology, Dr de la Hunty provides comprehensive eye care services to patients of all age groups.

Dr de la Hunty obtained his MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) degree from the University of Western Australia (UWA) in 1987. He then went on to complete his Fellowship in Ophthalmology (FRANZCO) in 1997.

In order to further enhance his skills and expertise, Dr de la Hunty spent a year in the United Kingdom, where he gained invaluable experience and training in cataract surgery, general eye surgery, strabismus surgery, and paediatric ophthalmology.

Upon his return to Australia, Dr de la Hunty established his private practice, Rockingham Eye Clinic, located in Waikiki. The clinic is well-equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, including laser scans, visual field tests, and photography equipment, to provide patients with comprehensive and accurate assessments and treatments.

Dr de la Hunty's practice encompasses various areas of ophthalmology, with special interests in cataract surgery, paediatric ophthalmology, strabismus surgery, and general ophthalmology. He is also well-versed in glaucoma treatments, including laser procedures and micro-implant glaucoma surgery.

Aside from his clinical practice, Dr de la Hunty serves as the Honorary Secretary of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (WA Branch), contributing to the advancement of the field through his involvement in professional organizations.
