Dr Danny Hsu is a skilled consultant clinical and laboratory haematologist with extensive experience in managing malignant and general haematological conditions. He received his medical degree from Monash University before relocating to Sydney to complete his training in clinical and laboratory haematology at St George Hospital and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. Dr Hsu holds Fellowship from the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Royal College of Pathologists Australasia, after which he became a staff specialist at Liverpool Hospital in 2011.
Dr Hsu is currently Director of Therapeutic Apheresis and Clinical Lead of Immune Haematology at Liverpool Hospital where he has played a significant role in treating rare haematological diseases like paroxysmal nocturnal haemoglobinuria, atypical haemolytic uraemic syndrome, immune thrombocytopenic purpura and thrombotic microangiopathies. As a member of various international and national pharmaceutical industry advisory boards, Dr Hsu advises on clinical research and contributes his expertise.
Dr Hsu is deeply passionate about education and remains an active Conjoint Lecturer at the University of NSW. He participates actively in mentoring and lectures for the School of Medicine while also co-founding the volunteer organisation “Young Blood” to assist with clinical teaching and networking for haematology trainees. He is also a sitting council member of the Thrombosis and Haemostasis society of Australian and New Zealand (THANZ).
Dr Hsu enjoys spending his spare time with friends in the various wineries and eateries of the Southern Highlands, where he resides.
