Dr Danielle Freeman is an experienced paediatrician with a speciality in neonatal care. Based in Elsternwick, Melbourne, she is dedicated to providing exceptional care to newborns and their families. Tackling various issues such as feeding and settling difficulties, prematurity, and medical conditions requiring ongoing monitoring, Dr Freeman's expertise in neonatal paediatrics is renowned.
Dr Freeman obtained her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (with honours) from the University of Melbourne. Following her internship at St Vincent's Hospital, she pursued her passion for paediatrics at the Royal Children's Hospital where she discovered her particular interest in newborn care. To further her knowledge in neonatal and perinatal medicine, she completed subspecialty training at the Mercy Hospital for Women.
Throughout her career, Dr Freeman has gained extensive experience in neonatal intensive care. She has also worked alongside the Newborn Emergency Transport Service, ensuring the stabilization and safe transportation of sick infants from all corners of Victoria. Seeking to enhance her expertise, she pursued a fellowship in neonatology at the prestigious Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. Dr Freeman then returned to Melbourne to establish her private practice.
Beyond her clinical work, Dr Freeman is passionate about antenatal counselling, resuscitation, ethics, and patient safety. She holds a Graduate Diploma in Health and Medical Law, which further fuels her fascination with the legal aspects of medicine. As a compassionate and dedicated paediatrician, Dr Freeman is committed to providing holistic care to newborns and their families, from antenatal consultation to comprehensive aftercare.
