Dr Charles Giddings is an experienced ENT surgeon with a focus on head, neck, thyroid, and airway surgery. With fellowship training in these areas, he provides high-quality care to both adult and pediatric patients facing general ENT conditions.
After graduating from University College London in 1999, Charles went on to specialize in otolaryngology head and neck surgery in London. During his training, he honed his skills in laryngology and airway surgery, and expanded his expertise with additional subspecialty training in head and neck cancer, skull base, thyroid, and airway surgery at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane. He earned his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2010 and his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2016.
Before joining Monash Health in Melbourne, Charles served as a specialist in ENT and head and neck surgery at St Bart’s and The London Hospitals in 2013-2014. As a consultant ENT head and neck surgeon at Monash Health, Charles focuses particularly on benign and malignant tumors of the head, neck, thyroid, and parathyroid. He is experienced in both transoral laser and skull base surgery, as well as more complex open procedures. Charles also has an interest in voice and swallowing disorders.
Beyond his clinical work, Charles is also an active researcher, regularly publishing articles and book chapters in his field. He is involved in ongoing research and trials at Monash Health and is committed to improving patient safety, having contributed to national committees. In recognition of his expertise, Charles has been appointed as an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Monash University.
