Dr Bryan Wai

Dr Bryan Wai is a highly skilled and knowledgeable cardiologist specialising in cardiac imaging. With expertise in echocardiography, including transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography, as well as stress echocardiography, Dr Wai is proficient in assessing and diagnosing cardiovascular conditions. He also has extensive experience in CT coronary angiography.

After completing his medical degree at the University of Melbourne, Dr Wai pursued his cardiology training at renowned medical institutions such as The Royal Melbourne Hospital, Barwon Health, and Austin Health. He furthered his expertise by completing a Cardiac Imaging Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, where he gained in-depth knowledge in various non-invasive cardiac imaging techniques, including transthoracic echocardiography, stress echocardiography, transoesophageal echocardiography, cardiac computed tomography, and cardiac magnetic resonance.

Dr Wai's commitment to advancing medical knowledge is evident in his strong interest in cardiac research. He was awarded a NHMRC and Heart Foundation postgraduate scholarship for his research on the effect of diabetes mellitus on the heart, conducted in collaboration with the University of Melbourne. He has published numerous papers in reputable medical journals, covering a wide range of topics related to cardiac imaging and cardiovascular risk assessment.
