Dr Brett Hamilton

Dr Brett Hamilton is an experienced medical oncologist specialising in the treatment of solid organ malignancies. He is currently based in West Albury, 2640, Melbourne, New South Wales, Australia. Dr Hamilton is associated with The Border Cancer Hospital and Wangaratta Private Hospital.

Dr Hamilton obtained his Bachelor of Science with honors in pharmacology and microbiology from the University of Western Australia in 2005. The following year, he achieved first-class honors in pharmacology. In 2011, he graduated from Monash University medical school. He completed his physician training at Liverpool Hospital in Sydney, during which he developed a keen interest in providing oncology services to regional and rural areas.

Throughout his medical training, Dr Hamilton actively sought placements and clinics in various locations, such as Bowral, Bathurst, Dubbo, Cobar, and Coonabarabran, to further his experience in regional and rural oncology services. He completed his medical oncology training through the Macarthur and Liverpool Cancer Centres. Dr Hamilton then embarked on a specialised training program in rural/tertiary oncology at The Alan Coates Cancer Centre in Dubbo and Chris O'Brien Life House in Sydney. In 2018, he was awarded fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

In addition to his medical qualifications, Dr Hamilton is currently pursuing a Masters in Medical Statistics. He is dedicated to expanding his knowledge and expertise to further benefit his patients.

Since 2019, Dr Hamilton has been practicing as a medical oncologist in Albury. He specialises in the treatment of all solid malignancies, with a particular focus on cancers of the lung, head and neck, and genitourinary tract. Dr Hamilton is highly committed to improving regional and rural oncology services and strives to provide expert and compassionate care to all of his patients.
