Dr. John is an experienced surgeon who pursued his medical studies at the Christian Medical College in the state of Punjab, India, in 1996. After completing his MBBS, he worked for two years at a Mission Hospital in Central India. He pursued and obtained a Master's Degree in General Surgery in 2002 before moving to a Mission Hospital near the Tibetan border in the foothills of the Himalayas, where he worked for four years. In January 2013, Dr. John became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons.
Dr. John moved to Australia in 2006 and worked at the Lyell McEwin Health service in Adelaide for a year before relocating to the Royal Darwin Hospital in Darwin. At the hospital, he was instrumental in establishing and managing the Surgical Acute Care Unit (SACU) and served as the Director of General Surgery for two years before relocating his family to Albury.
Dr. John has a broad range of interests in surgery, including colorectal, hernias, breast, thyroid, and surgical emergencies. He's GESA certified in gastroscopy and colonoscopy, including endoscopic interventions such as oesophageal and colonic stenting and dilation of strictures. Additionally, he participates in Albury Wodonga Private Hospital's Open Access Endoscopy Service. Dr. John has been an experienced surgeon for years and aims to serve his patients with the utmost dedication and care.
