Dr Ben Fitzgerald

Dr Ben Fitzgerald is an exceptionally skilled Cardiologist with subspecialty training in Cardiac Imaging, specifically Echocardiography and CT. He completed his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Queensland and has served as a doctor for the Royal Australian Navy.
After his Navy service, Dr Fitzgerald pursued his Cardiology training in Queensland and then went on to complete his Imaging Fellowship at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic in the United States.

Dr Fitzgerald's expertise lies in Non-Invasive Cardiac Imaging, with a special interest in Transoesophageal Echocardiograophy (TOE), Heart Failure, and Cardio-Oncology. He is known for his research on stress echocardiography and cardiac amyloidosis.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Fitzgerald is actively involved in research. He has published numerous articles in esteemed medical journals, including CASE, IJC Heart & Vasculature, Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology, and more. Some of his notable publications focus on the regression of cardiac amyloidosis and the use of echocardiography in diagnosing transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis.

Currently, Dr Fitzgerald serves as a visiting Echocardiologist at The Prince Charles Hospital. He consults and performs tests at multiple locations, including Clayfield, The Wesley Hospital, and Greenslopes Private Hospital. He also provides his services to patients in Roma on a monthly basis.
